Virgil Van Dijk and his teammates continue to lose to Real Madrid

To lose with a total score of 2-6 after two rounds, Liverpool had to say goodbye to the continental arena in a rather bitter way. And shared after the game, midfielder Virgil van Dijk shared: "Honestly, I think the first half was quite balanced. It's not easy to turn the tide here but you try not to look ahead.

Liverpool never beat Real when I came here. So that's what we've always wanted to do. I think we created some dangerous chances in the first half. But Real also played well especially after the halftime break. And I feel pretty frustrated."

Besides, Virgil van Dijk also did not forget to praise the defending champion Real Madrid. The Dutchman added: "We played against a team that never wavered even when you put them under pressure. Even in the most difficult situation they still managed to stay calm.

Obviously they have players who can make the difference like Modric, Benzema. However, I think in the first half we could have scored. If it happens, maybe the outcome of today's match will be different."
